Class 3F Fowler Tank 'Jinty'

On finishing the LMS Fairburn tank, I decided to build another LMS locomotive that I had picked up as a kit at a reasonable cost from a show some years ago.

This kit was from Connoisseur Models and produces a Fowler 3F ‘Jinty’. Although there is lots of proprietary Jinty’s on the market now from Dapol, I felt that the kit was there to be built, It would be all in brass and how I want it to be. Although one of the best small tank engines designed for the LMS, out of the 422 produced only 15 were built by the LMS at the Horwich works. I was very surprised when I found this out, and when I had decided on what loco I wanted (one based at Barrow road) I then had to set about researching who built it so I could order the correct makers plate for the rear of the loco (Order through ‘Light Railway Stores’). The kit is a fairley easy build but does require additional things added and a few alterations to make it into a nice looking loco. All parts are soldered as per all my loco's, mainly as I enjoy soldering, and the strength it provides . All that is left to do now is to dismantle the sections, spray and add transfers.

Below are a number of pictures of the build, hope there useful.
